What we are up to in our WIT.

Right now we are up to planning our                                  resource for our WIT.

Our WIT is to create a child-friendly resource to give to a classroom in Frankley school about invertebrate (bugs & insects)

-----------------------------------------------------------

To Mrs Irvine and Mrs Cooksley
From Zalia Aimee & Ashley

We would like to come down to your classroom if it is okay and observe and conference with a couple of your kids about questions that link to our Invertebrates in the Frankley School bush WIT.

Example of our questions: Do you like reading on a computer or off of a book? Why?  Do you like making stuff out of materials or just doing it straight on a computer? and  Why? Do you like writing or typing?  What kind of books can you read?  stories from your book box?

Anyway could you please let us know what time would be suitable to come down and do all of this stuff

Thanks Ashley Aimee Zalia

This is the reply:
You would be most welcome to come to Rooms 3&4 before morning tea or alternatively after lunch :)

My Information Report

This is for our invertebrate WIT everyone had to make traps and put them in the bush and see                 what we caught this is about ladybugs.

The Life of Ladybugs

Like many other insects, Ladybugs use  aposematic colouration* to signal their toxicity** to Predators.   Insect-eating birds\other animals will learn to avoid meals that come in red and black, and are more likely to stay clear of a ladybug’s path.

Protection:
Ladybugs play dead when they are trying to avoid danger\predators. Such as assassin bugs, stink bugs and spiders may commonly kill ladybugs. Ladybugs can warn you if they are dangerous by the color of their bodies.

Diet:
The most common insects that ladybugs eat are aphids, which are serious pests of plants. Even the larvae ladybugs eat aphids.  Ladybugs also have a diet of  mites, whiteflies and soft bodied insects.

Habitat:Ladybug - Free images on Pixabay
Adult ladybugs and larvae can be found living in gardens,  fields, wooded areas and on plants.  The beetles hibernate during winter months in clusters normally found under rocks.   But may also go to homes if they can get through the cracks and crevices.

Female ladybugs eat 75 aphids in one day and amazed as you are when a ladybug flies, its wings beat 85 times a second.

That was fireworks

That was fireworks

Remember: seeing colorful fireworks lighting up the sky? all the   purple green orange and blue colors forming patterns?

Remember: tasting the smoke that was filling my mouth?

Remember: felling the sparklers touch the tip of my hand?

Remember: hearing the banging sounds as the firework lifted from the ground and into the sky?

Remember: smelling the smoke like it was from the BBQ?

Do you remember: being with family, everyone laughing after a firework exploded?

That was fireworks.
