Is Milk Healthy For you?
Fellow students I know that everyone in the world drinks milk about everyday but the question is...
Is milk healthy for you or not healthy for you or not healthy for you?
Well the answer is... YES! The most important reason that milk is healthy for you, is my calculations of the sugar(4.9g) fat(0.4g) is under 10g which is great and the sodium(35mg) is under 400 which is also great. The world health organisation sets this food as a healthy food.
From the bottle of the milk container the company don't lie about this product being healthy. Milk is healthy and is good for our bones, protein and our health development.
On the food pyramid milk comes from the dairy column, which we should only drink some of it also has been processed from a factory because it comes from cows.
It is easy to see the benefit of milk for our bodies in bone development.

Where I'm up to in my WIT.
Where I'm up to in my WIT
-----------------------------------------------------------
My group is made of 4 people, their names are Ashley, Aimee, Daina and myself. Our WIT is about Volunteering for a community project that will make a positive impact on others. We were inspired by Ellie, Sarah and Nikyla from Kahikatea for doing a Ngamotu beach clean up to stop people from polluting in our oceans so we all thought that would be a great way to Volunteer for this WIT.
First we had to get in our groups and complete our needs statements and questions together then we got started since Ngamotu beach was run by the district council we had to call them which we were all nervous about doing... They said YES, for Monday the 27th we are all going down to Ngamotu beach to pick up rubbish.
we are gong to have to bring plastic bags which i'm providing and then Ashley's providing gloves for everyone. Aimee' bringing spear bags and Daina's bringing bug spray sunblock and hand sanitizer.

What is the best slice or biscuit in New Zealand
I think that Peanut butter cookies are the best in New Zealand by far.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Lolly cake (slice)
Lolly cake is deliciously yum because I add marsh mellows into the mix then once it's baked the Marsh mellows are all scattered around inside and it looks like a melted rainbow cake.
It's also good because you can make the Lolly cake into a log then cut It into the smallest or biggest amount of Lolly cake that you want I think that's cool.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Afghan cookies
Afghan cookies have healthy nuts sprinkled on the top, but don't get fooled by all of the chocolate melted on because it is not that healthy to have all the time.
Afghan cookies are just chocolatey goodness but you should only eat a little bit of the Afghan cookies because they are full of sugar.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Peanut butter biscuits
Peanut butter biscuits are fabulous I love to eat them when they are straight out the oven when its hot and crispy.
Peanut Butter biscuits are healthy for you because they have peanut butter in them, they are soft and chewy when you let them cool down.
-----------------------------------------------------------
In my opinion I think that the Peanut butter biscuits should win for the best biscuits in New Zealand because they are healthy for you and the company who invented them should have an award.

My teacher thinks im...
My teacher thinks i’m listening but really I am… Staying at home slouching on the couch binge watching movies on Netflix with my Mum.
My teacher thinks i’m reading but really I am… travelling to Pukekura park loaded with a big picnic, fizzy drinks, sandwiches and candy. Unfortunately obtaining a stitch while playing on all the crazy squirmy obstacles.
My teacher thinks i’m writing but really i am… Having a sleepover with my precious little cousin, and being freezing cold waking up with no blanket on at all.

Aimee and zalia dialogue #2
We made a dialogue because we like two character stories and what happens in them. Have we made this dialogue correctly?
Staring:Cat(Aimee)
Staring:Cat(Aimee)
and Turtle (Zalia)
Turtle:
“How you doing Cat” Asked the Turtle
Cat:
*snoring*
Turtle:
“CAT WAKE UP I’M TALKING TO YOU!!!!!” Yelled the Turtle
Cat:
“OH” “sorry ” Yawned the Cat
Turtle:
“I was trying to say, let’s go for a walk around the block because you definitely need to get some exercise”
Cat:
“UGH do I have to” mumbled the Cat
Turtle:
“Yes you do now hurry up!!!” urged the Turtle
Cat:
“OK, Ok just stop talking”
Turtle:
“Okay then let's go” said the Turtle excitedly
The Cat picked up the turtle and rested him on her back they then trotted out for a walk, after they were done they headed back home and ate, after they had finished eating they fell asleep together.

WIT post
My WIT
I've finally finished my WIT!!!
Our task was to create a child-friendly resource that will communicate to the kids of Frankley School about invertebrates and what they are.
The people who were in my group are myself, Aimee and Ashley. We made a slideshow we had up to 26 slides at least that students could use to observe their invertebrate and click on possible links to identify what it is. It was fun making the slideshow because we got to add pictures and links and got to write long words like Adaptations and Invertebrates.
The teachers from Te Puawai thought that it was a great way to let them learn what bugs they were finding. Thanks for lookng at my WIT blog post.

How my Cross-country went
How my Cross-country went
For my Cross-country I did the fun run, for my training we ran around the Tuuhono class and around the courts as much times as we could. Coming up the hills was the hardest part because it slowed you down. When I had finished the fun run I was feeling very out of breath but was glad that I gave it my all and that I had finished. Next year I want to work on running faster and taking longer breaths.

Limericks poem
There once was a beautiful girl
Who had a kangaroo named pearl
She put her in a car
and then drove really far
and then they fell into a swirl

What we are up to in our WIT.
Right now we are up to planning our resource for our WIT.
Our WIT is to create a child-friendly resource to give to a classroom in Frankley school about invertebrate (bugs & insects)
-----------------------------------------------------------
To Mrs Irvine and Mrs Cooksley
From Zalia Aimee & Ashley
We would like to come down to your classroom if it is okay and observe and conference with a couple of your kids about questions that link to our Invertebrates in the Frankley School bush WIT.
Example of our questions: Do you like reading on a computer or off of a book? Why? Do you like making stuff out of materials or just doing it straight on a computer? and Why? Do you like writing or typing? What kind of books can you read? stories from your book box?
Anyway could you please let us know what time would be suitable to come down and do all of this stuff
This is the reply:
You would be most welcome to come to Rooms 3&4 before morning tea or alternatively after lunch :)

My Information Report
This is for our invertebrate WIT everyone had to make traps and put them in the bush and see what we caught this is about ladybugs.
The Life of Ladybugs
Like many other insects, Ladybugs use aposematic colouration* to signal their toxicity** to Predators. Insect-eating birds\other animals will learn to avoid meals that come in red and black, and are more likely to stay clear of a ladybug’s path.
Protection:
Ladybugs play dead when they are trying to avoid danger\predators. Such as assassin bugs, stink bugs and spiders may commonly kill ladybugs. Ladybugs can warn you if they are dangerous by the color of their bodies.
Diet:
The most common insects that ladybugs eat are aphids, which are serious pests of plants. Even the larvae ladybugs eat aphids. Ladybugs also have a diet of mites, whiteflies and soft bodied insects.
Habitat:
Adult ladybugs and larvae can be found living in gardens, fields, wooded areas and on plants. The beetles hibernate during winter months in clusters normally found under rocks. But may also go to homes if they can get through the cracks and crevices.
Female ladybugs eat 75 aphids in one day and amazed as you are when a ladybug flies, its wings beat 85 times a second.

That was fireworks
That was fireworks
Remember: seeing colorful fireworks lighting up the sky? all the purple green orange and blue colors forming patterns?
Remember: tasting the smoke that was filling my mouth?
Remember: felling the sparklers touch the tip of my hand?
Remember: hearing the banging sounds as the firework lifted from the ground and into the sky?
Remember: smelling the smoke like it was from the BBQ?
Do you remember: being with family, everyone laughing after a firework exploded?
That was fireworks.
